Dr. Ritu Thamman Cardiology

Dr. Thamman is a triple board-certified adult cardiologist who has been in private practice in Pittsburgh for more than a decade.

Dr. Thamman received her M.D. from Northwestern University Medical School. She did her residency training in Internal Medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. She did her Cardiology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is board certified in Cardiology, Echocardiography,and Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Thamman main interest center on imaging of the heart. She has published images of cardiomyopathies and has presented at the annual meetings of the American College of Cardiology where she is member of the Disparities of Care Task Force Committee.

Although Pittsburgh has been her home for almost  20 years, Dr. Thamman is not a native Pittsburgher. She was born New Jersey and raised in Delhi India for the first four years of her life. She attended the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois.

Dr. Thamman other interests include the interface of complementary and allopathic medicine. She is a longtime Board member of Phipps Conservatory, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing plants and health together.

She lives with her husband and daughter in Pittsburgh.
